Mother of the Year Nomination Form
Nominations for the Mother of the Year award are due to Mothers Kimberly Thurmond Bowdre and Chrystal Porter by Sunday, April 16, 2023.
Nominations will not be accepted after this date.
Chapter members will be emailed the list of nominees prior to our next meeting.
The Mother of the Year tribute to mothers was first designed and implemented by Mrs. Sanderal Brown during her tenure as Regional Director (1989 – 1991). This award bestows special recognition upon the mother who exemplifies the ideals of Jack and Jill. It recognizes the mother who:
· Goes beyond the call of duty
· Keeps morale high in the Chapter
· Unifies the Chapter
· Enriches the Chapter’s programs
· Promotes the Chapter’s growth
· Works with the community
· Sets an example for all to achieve
· Supports the Chapter’s mission, vision and goals
Nominations should consist of mothers who have demonstrated a sustained commitment, active participation
and enthusiasm for our chapter programs and activities. We are especially interested in mothers who have “gone the extra mile” to plan and coordinate special activities and programs for our children. Nominations should consist of mothers who have nurtured and mentored our children through their participation. Finally, nominations should consist of mothers who have helped to foster friendship and sisterhood amongst the mothers in the chapter.
In addition to the criteria outlined above, the following should also be addressed concerning the nominee:
· Years of active service in Jack and Jill
· Offices, positions held
· Committees really worked on
· Special projects participation
· Overall attendance
Members interested in nominating candidates for this award are required to be active members and in good standing with the chapter. In order to nominate, a member MUST be in financial compliance with all dues and assessments AND fulfill at least one of the following three obligations by the time the nomination is submitted.
· Attend three regular meetings per year
· Host a Group activity for each applicable age group (or otherwise fulfill your age group obligations)
· Serve on a Standing or Special Committee
Best regards,
Mothers Kimberly Thurmond Bowdre & Chrystal Porter
